XThe Rose Gold purred like a housecat, the low buzz of table play interrupted here and there by the whoop of a winning customer or the soft laugh of a House tart landing a customer. Gloria gathered her long skirt in one hand.
Gloria: We tetes, we'll have us a talk. You boys enjoy youselves. Hospitality of the house.
Hob's wide face split into a grin. Alain sighed. 'How bout I get us some drinks?
'What game we aimin' to play?' Isidro said as Hob handed a wad of the unmarked, untraceable data cards used as cash on the streets to a smiling cashier.
Hob: ...'We'?
Isidro's easygoing smile widened. 'Be a waste to come to a nice house like this an' not play a little game.
'Uncle Kim....' Travis's jaw worked as he tried to fit it around a warning that wouldn't tip off the ever-listening House.
'They take your credit here, frere, for sure,' Hob said uneasily as Isidro flipped open his wallet, 'but....'
Travis cleared his throat. 'I'm sure the cause won't want us using their money in a --'
'Such worriers,' Isidro said, pulling from his wallet not an Imperial credit stick, but a handful of cash twin to Hob's.
Isidro: Et voila.

Annnnd page!
So as mentioned, I'll be experimenting with a new hybrid format for this storyline. Illustrated... storycomic, I guess? The important part from my end is that it's getting more material per page and is taking considerably less effort for the art -- and I'm pretty sure most of y'all are not here for the art, anyhow.
Very much a work in progress though so if you have a question or a comment or complaint, feel free! I have a pretty iron ego, and I want to share this story in a way you guys enjoy as well as in a way that helps me finish. Comments that help me see how to do both will be gratefully taken on board, comments that don't help me will be just as gratefully but firmly jettisoned without prejudice, because even I can't tell the difference until I hear 'em.
I am hoping to get through this in my previous usual fashion of updating to a graceful break point and then taking a week or two pause while I catch up, but I was also hoping to hire at least one more person at the day job this year annnnnd that didn't happen. So I'll just say I'll do my best not to vanish for years again.
