So, no updates for 3 weeks, and no explanation (save a post on my Patreon that I hope some folks saw). What gives?

I developed another goddamn ovarian cyst. Most of you probably don't care about this, but in summary: it's not dangerous, and most won't even know they have it; an unlucky few get complications or symptoms, an even unluckier few get them chronically; I am in the 'unluckier' category; there's not a hell of a lot that can be done about it, except use hormonal birth control, take pain pills, and suffer. Basically it is a minor aliment that can still lay me out flat, because it hurts too much to sit upright and because the other symptoms include fatigue (I HATE THIS SYMPTOM) and all the lovely emotional crap that hormones can gift me with, which for me seems to mostly mean anxiety and depression.

The good news is that I am on the upswing -- my doctor was finally able to squeeze me in yesterday and confirmed that, yup, cyst, but it had already ruptured, so now it's just dealing with the pain hangover until my body reabsorbs all the blood and gunk sloshing around in there. I have been working on the comic -- the shot above is lame, I know, but it's a set I've been building for an upcoming script. I've been able to armchair script a little too. With luck, I will be back to updating next week.

So that's the news that isn't. I'm sorry to have left you guys hanging so long; it was insupportable not to at least post filler or an update, but... let's just say the emotional side effects were a bit of a killer this time through. And knowing the voice in your head chanting 'why bother, this is crap, it's not good enough, you're not good enough' is the product of a bag of fluid on your ovary doesn't seem to help shut it off. I'll work on that for the next time; given that this is my third major, life-complicating cyst in five years, I guess I have to face that there's gonna be a next time.
